AIR & GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMPS SYSTEMS
CLAUSIUS hybrid systems allow the best of geothermal and aerothermal to be obtained in a single system and are, without a doubt, the future of air conditioning systems. Discover efficient hybrid air and geothermal heat pumps systems for optimal heating and cooling solutions.
HYBRID SYSTEM
Hybrid geothermal-aerothermal systems integrate ground source heat pumps, utilizing both ground and air collectors within a single installation. This dual-collector approach combines the benefits of both methods: ground collectors provide consistent performance, while air collectors offer flexibility. It effectively addresses the limitations of each method, such as the reduced efficiency of air systems in colder temperatures and the higher costs associated with ground collectors.
Specialized controls in these heat pumps are specifically designed for hybrid configurations. The control system optimizes energy efficiency by actively selecting the best operating conditions and adjusting glycol flow between ground and air collectors. This ensures maximum performance for both heating and cooling operations.

GROUND RECHARGING
These hybrid systems recharge energy into the ground when outside temperatures are high, and heating is unnecessary. They transfer heat energy from the air collector to the ground collector, allowing for low-cost energy storage. When needed, the system retrieves this stored energy through the ground collector and heat pump to efficiently heat the home.
CLAUSIUS AIR SYSTEM
Climate control systems with ground source heat pumps deliver significant advantages over those using air source heat pumps, offering greater efficiency and reliability. However, space constraints or legal restrictions can sometimes prevent the installation of ground collectors. In these cases, opting for air source heat pumps becomes a practical solution.
The Air System retains all the benefits of ground source systems but replaces the ground collector with a simple, efficient, and durable air source unit. This setup integrates advanced ground source heat pumps with an external air unit (CLAUSIUS Air Source), which has been specifically engineered and validated by CLAUSIUS. The unit captures energy from the air and channels it into the heat pump to support heating and cooling needs.

AIR UNITS
Climate control systems with ground source heat pumps provide superior efficiency and reliability compared to air source heat pumps. However, limited space or legal restrictions can make installing ground collectors challenging. In such situations, air source heat pumps are a practical alternative.
The Air System maintains the advantages of ground source systems but uses a robust, efficient, and durable air source unit instead of a ground collector. This system integrates advanced ground source heat pumps with an external air unit (CLAUSIUS Air Source), designed and validated by CLAUSIUS. The unit effectively captures energy from the air and directs it to the heat pump for optimal heating and cooling.

BUILT-IN DESUPERHEATER IN CLASSIC MODELS
For the CLASSIC configuration and all H and HC models, you can integrate a system with a desuperheater. This setup enables the simultaneous production of high-temperature domestic hot water (DHW) and other functions such as heating, or, in HC DS models, heating and cooling or heating and swimming pool water.
The desuperheater system includes a heat exchanger (desuperheater), a circulation pump, and the necessary valves and control components. Key benefits of the desuperheater system include:
- High Temperature: Produces both heating and DHW at high temperatures simultaneously.
- Swimming Pool: Facilitates simultaneous heating and swimming pool water.
- Enhanced Efficiency: Allows for the production of DHW using both the condenser and desuperheater, increasing the overall efficiency of the heat pump.

DHW TANKS WITH BUILT-IN DESUPERHEATER IN CLASSIC MODELS
In the CLASSIC configuration, as well as all H and HC models, you can pair the system with a DHW tank featuring a desuperheater to produce domestic hot water (DHW) at high temperatures. This combination allows the production of DHW up to 80°C without the need for electric heaters.
When you combine CLASSIC models with a DHW tank equipped with a desuperheater, the setup includes all necessary connection and control components. The tanks come preloaded with refrigerant and feature quick connections for ease of installation. Available tank capacities are 250, 300, and 500 liters. Using these tanks significantly increases the amount of DHW available. For example, a 500-liter tank can produce over 1000 liters of DHW at 38°C.

CLAUSIUS ADVANCE CONTROL
The CLAUSIUS Advance Control system can be integrated into all CLASSIC and ELITE configurations across all models. Specifically designed by CLAUSIUS, this advanced control system manages complex installations, including CLAUSIUS Air Source and Hybrid Systems, and integrates heat pumps with photovoltaic installations. It builds on the functionalities of the CLAUSIUS Standard control system and introduces several enhanced features:
- Manages 5 mixing groups.
- Controls 6 zones independently, each with heating and cooling thermostats.
- Regulates the DHW recirculation system based on temperature.
- Operates 3 in-line electric heaters.
- Controls heating circuits with flow switches for both brine and heating systems.
- Allows simultaneous use of Th-tunes, Internet Kit, and Data Acquisition Kit.
- Monitors indoor temperature and humidity levels.
- Manages bivalent systems through on-off control of the complementary system.
- Controls secondary circuits from the buffer tank.
